Susannah Thompson is the Founder & Lead Facilitator of IdeaTreks. She specializes in helping organizations unlock innovative thinking to create a bold vision rooted in their competitive advantage and then connect blue sky thinking to delivering results. From running futuring workshops and innovation sessions to leading corporate culture and employee engagement projects, Susannah is a powerful catalyst for changing old thinking and translating vision to outcomes.
Having lived and worked in more than 25 countries across a broad range of industries and organizations, Susannah is uniquely equipped to guide global executive teams through their strategic planning process and help them farm real productivity from global or regional team meetings. She understands how to engage, inspire and connect diverse teams to drive toward a common goal and acts as the backstop to ensure costly global meetings achieve their intended outcomes.
Prior to founding IdeaTreks, Susannah led the Global Brand & Innovation Council for Molson Coors Brewing Company, where she designed the enterprise innovation strategy and managed the global innovation pipeline. She was simultaneously the Global Strategic Planning leader, guiding global C-Suite planning sessions and managing the world-wide strategic planning process. During her ten years at Molson Coors, Susannah held a wide spectrum of roles in brand management, international sales, and corporate M&A strategy. In addition, she launched the company’s first futuring initiative and designed and delivered innovation and creativity workshops. Prior to Molson Coors, Susannah lived in Latin America and Europe and worked for Bayer Corporation, Boston Scientific, Lucent Technologies, and The American Cancer Society in international business development, marketing and sales.
In her spare time Susannah founded a non-profit organization the Kids Music Project whose mission is to provide access to music education and performance to kids in Colorado. The organization provides full-year Kindergarten music teaching guides and rhythm kits to schools who don’t receive funding for the arts.
Susannah holds a B.A. degree in advertising/ public relations and French from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management. She speaks English, Spanish, French, and German and dabbles in Italian, Portuguese and Chinese.
